Windsurfing
World class windsurfing at the Squamish spit is due to the steady prevailing winds funneling up North Americas southermost fjord.
Bird watching
Over 10,000 American bald eagles congregate in the Squamish valley between November and January to feed on the 120,000 chum salmon who spawn at this time. Also the Squamish estuary conservation society has identified more than 300 bird species in the area.
